Mr. Bigglesworth

Mr. Bigglesworth is the beloved pet of Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers spy-comedy films, a direct parody of the fluffy white Persian stroked by the Bond villain Blofeld. The joke is that when Dr. Evil is unfrozen after decades in cryostasis, his once-luxuriant cat has lost all its fur — leaving a wrinkled, hairless Sphynx.

The role was played by Sphynx cats, the naturally hairless breed prized for its warm, suede-like skin and outgoing personality. On screen the cat's bald, faintly grumpy appearance became the perfect visual gag, and Dr. Evil's tender devotion to "Mr. Bigglesworth" — even as his schemes collapse — is one of the films' running jokes.

The character helped introduce a huge audience to the Sphynx breed, which many viewers had never seen before. The films also spun off "Mini-Me's" version of the cat, a tiny hairless companion to match the miniature clone, doubling down on the joke.

Mr. Bigglesworth remains one of cinema's most quotable pets — proof that a villain's cat can steal scenes without saying, or having, a single hair.
