Sock Snuffle Treat Pouch
A no-sew snuffle toy made from a sock and fleece scraps
Stuff a clean sock with strips of fleece or scrap fabric, hide treats among the folds, and let your cat nose and dig them out — a soft foraging toy from odds and ends.

🧺 You will need
- One clean, odourless cotton sock
- A handful of fleece or soft fabric strips
- Treats or a portion of kibble
- A pinch of dried catnip (optional)
🔧 How to make it
- Cut or tear soft fabric into short strips a few centimetres long.
- Loosely fill the toe half of the sock with the fabric strips so it forms a soft, springy nest.
- Tuck treats (and a little catnip if using) down among the strips so they are hidden but reachable.
- Fold or loosely knot the open end of the sock so nothing falls straight out, leaving the pouch open enough for a paw and nose.
- Let your cat sniff, paw and burrow into the sock to work the treats free.
💡 Tips
- Use a plain, freshly washed sock with no strong detergent smell.
- Keep the fabric strips large enough that they cannot be easily swallowed.
- Refresh the treats and give the sock a wash between uses to keep it appealing and clean.
Safety: Supervise your cat while it plays and put the toy away afterwards, as socks and loose fabric strips can be a swallowing hazard if chewed apart. Discard it if it starts to fray or come apart.
