🧺 You will need
- An empty toilet-roll or kitchen-roll tube
- A few treats or a little kibble
- Optional: scissors to cut small holes
🔧 How to make it
- Drop a few treats inside the cardboard tube.
- Fold one end of the tube flat and then fold the other end to close it loosely.
- For an easier version, cut a couple of small holes in the side so treats fall out with less effort.
- Give it to your cat and let them bat, roll and chew to release the treats.
💡 Tips
- Loosely closed ends are easier for beginners; fold them tighter to raise the challenge.
- Make several at once so you always have a fresh, disposable puzzle ready.
Safety: Supervise while your cat plays and remove the tube once it becomes soggy or badly chewed, as large pieces of wet cardboard should not be swallowed.
📝 Notes
This costs nothing, uses something you would otherwise throw away, and can simply be recycled when your cat is done with it.
