Didga

Didga — short for Didgeridoo — is an Australian rescue cat who became famous as one of the most accomplished trick-performing cats in the world. Adopted as a kitten from a shelter on the Gold Coast by professional animal trainer Robert Dollwet, she was trained using positive-reinforcement, clicker-based methods more usually associated with dogs, and proved a remarkably willing pupil. Didga can skateboard, leap over obstacles and rolling skateboards, give high-fives, jump through hoops and roll over on cue. In 2015 she set a Guinness World Record for the most tricks performed by a cat in one minute — twenty in sixty seconds — a feat that astonished people who assume cats simply cannot be trained. Her videos, shared on the 'CATMANTOO' channel, have been watched many millions of times and have done a great deal to change public perceptions of feline intelligence and trainability. Beyond the spectacle, Dollwet has used Didga's fame to promote rescue adoption and to show owners that mental stimulation and training can enrich any cat's life. Her skateboarding clips in particular turned her into an internet sensation and a genuine ambassador for shelter cats everywhere.
